Why I give - Day 3 - Support a buddy

There's a school (I think) in Chicago that has been sending me a lot of direct mail appeals. Their attempts are futile, because the single reason I ever gave to this organization was to support a bud. I suggest that if you engage in fundraising, don't be afraid to ask those close to you - we'll support anything! Your buddies love supporting your worthy causes and passionate efforts.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Year of Gratitude - Day 122 - SPL Family

I know I mention Southfield Public Library a lot in this year of gratitude, but there's a lot to be grateful for. Like every single one of these people, for example. We all got together tonight and had dinner in Southfield. It was a wonderful evening!

Year of Gratitude - Day 101 - Anthony and Jamie

Today, my friends Anthony and Jamie got married. I can't think of two more wonderful, caring, smart, funny, loving people. Seriously, Anthony has been our friend for a long time and it feels like Jamie has been with us just as long. They are so wonderful and great and I am delighted to be considered their friend. Further, I'm honored they invited us to celebrate their love. Their wedding was WONDERFUL! A perfect day in every way!

Sidenote: I really, really enjoyed Batch 69 American IPA from Frankenmuth Brewery. Really. I think we all enjoyed a lot of things that evening. This photo is evidence of that.

Year of Gratitude - Day 45 - Trip to Cincinnati

A couple weeks ago, my two dear friends and I packed up my car and drove down to Cincinnati for a weekend trip. It may have been one of the most perfectly planned, timed and executed trips ever. We got a great deal on a condo for the weekend, walked everywhere, ate well, partied exceptionally and responsibly, slept easy and stayed hydrated. We also saw an amazing one-woman stage adaptation of The Handmaid's Tale. And the weather was perfect. This is a road trip that I will not soon forgot.

Year of Gratitude - Day 12 - My buddy Christina

Christina and I suspect that we crossed each other paths at Wayne State. Working with her was such a delight and she would be instrumental in my returning to University of Michigan-Dearborn. Christina is just one of the most clear-minded individuals I've ever met. It is wonderful to have a buddy that can rationally and patiently walk you through a situation. She provides great advice and is one of the most caring and honest human beings I've ever met.
