This final gratitude post (for this month) is about how there is ALWAYS something new to learn in this day and age. There are so many free courses and lectures out there. I have had discussions where the thought is "A free model can't continue to work," but I wonder if that's the only kind that will. Higher education prices are rising while there's not much talk of quality improving at the same rate. Once things have been offered for free, well, it's hard to start making people pay up. The music industry has had its digital makeover and journalism is finding this out as it tries to make more online content exclusive to paying customers. But I hope these massive open online course (MOOCs) are here to stay.
